John B
(Metalheadz, Beta Recordings, UK)

Part man, part machine, part #airportninja… ALL original.
DJ, producer and multiple label owner: John B is one of electronic music’s most distinctive, creative and consistent contributors. Splicing genre DNA like a modern mad scientist, touring all corners like a D&B missionary; with a sound as sharp as his wardrobe and a vision as defined as his eyeliner, he’s ensured he’s remained a relevant, in-demand and influential source for almost 20 years and has developed one of the most loyal international fanbases in the scene.
The highest ever charting D&B DJ in the DJ Mag Top 100, John has found favour from all sides; from championing Mixmag’s groundbreaking Trance & Bass mix CD to being responsible for one of Metalheadz most enduring, timeless classics ‘Up All Night’, John unites scenes and sub genres like no other. A high profile touring machine, he’s drum & bass’s most characterful international ambassador, notching dancefloor bedposts everywhere from Moscow to Manhattan, Manchester to Melbourne, Los Angeles to London. Freshly signed to Evolution artist agency – home of the most respected drum & bass talents – this global representation has just gone next level.
The list of his creative accomplishments is endless: As a label owner, he’s responsible for signing early releases from an impressive roll-call of well-known artists to his labels Beta Recordings and Nu-Electro: Nu:Tone, Logistics, Commix, Xilent, High Rankin, Gemini, Receptor, Dexcell and Camo & Krooked have all enjoyed John’s support in the past while exciting new artists such as Gmorozov, Virtue and Vice City have all experienced the Beta treatment in the last 12 months and have plenty more in store in the near future. John has also developed a cult following on his food blog ‘Cooking With John B‘ and grows his own vegetables including voicebox-melting Trinidad Scorpion Moruga chillies.
The real heat, though, is in his beats: John has released on hugely influential labels such as Goldie’s Metalheadz and Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto. His skills have also been identified by Nicky Minaj who recruited John for co-production duties on her hit single ‘Here I Am’. He’s also remixed artists as disparate as Howard Jones to Pendulum via Bloc Party, Michael Cassette and My Robot Friend.
Meanwhile as a selector he can conjure up the deepest, darkest classic sets, the most forward-thinking futuristic free-for-alls… And everything in between. No stranger to electro, Latin, punk, techno or jungle, his hugely popular podcasts reflect his rich understanding of the widest picture. Destination johnbpodcast.com: each show regularly exceeds 100,000 downloads and frequently hit the number one spot on Mixcloud and iTunes podcast charts top 10. For 18 months he also blasted his broadcasting experience to over 130 cities across Russia with a weekly show on Radio Record.
Naturally his wide range of reference points and his passion for all styles are also represented in John B productions. Flex rig

OLD BIO - Up to 2015

British super producer John B has known for ages what Lady Gaga is only just discovering: the importance of pushing boundaries with a well-manicured hand.

With his fondness for eye liner, nail varnish and retro kitsch, John B has become one of the most eclectic and unique individuals in electronic music. His playful stretching of the genre’s elastic over the past ten years has meant he’s been able to work with figureheads from all corners of the scene. From Metalheadz boss Goldie, to legendary global DJ Paul Oakenfold.

Defying categorisation, John’s catalogue straddles electro, punk rock, trance, Latin and drum and bass. The euphoric ‘Up All Night’ became the defining track on Mixmag’s Trance and Bass compilation in 2003 and was quickly followed by a commission for Oakenfold’s Perfecto imprint, which appeared on the epic ‘Great Wall’ compilation alongside the likes of Madonna and Justin Timberlake.

Truly international, John has brought dance music to some of the farthest flung places on the globe, including Siberia and the sub continent. And he has the air miles to prove it. He plays regular dates in Russia, Miami, LA, and the Czech Republic, and has South American and Indian tours coming up later this year.

John’s been a pioneer of sub genres through his production and DJing as well as via the diverse releases from talent on his own labels, Beta and Nu Electro. All of the artists nurtured within these stables have gone on to achieve success in their own right. Nu:tone, Logistics and Commix all began their careers working with John and have gone on to make massive waves in dance music.

More recent Beta graduates to the big time have been Camo & Krooked; Gemini; drum step outfit, Terravita; Receptor; and Xilent, whose Ayah Marar remix was recently put out by MOS.

And further galvanising John’s affinity with Eastern Europe, Toolroom new boys Indivision from Estonia, will be releasing a house track on Beta. While Russian outfit, Gmorozov get bedded in at Nu Electro.

John’s last album, Electrostep, saw him credited with single-handedly developing a new style in drum and bass.

Scything through that year’s releases, it was hailed as a ‘tongue in cheek electro overdose for models and porn stars’ and garnered him a diverse and unrivalled global fan base.

His referencing of colourful counter-cultures such as fetish, euro pop, burlesque, street fashion and the avant garde, have brought him into the orbits of electrohouse scene favourites such as Larry Tee, Mark Moore and Tommie Sunshine, who were all champions of John’s Electrostep album.

And his electro friendships don’t end there. He’s done remixes for Heaven 17, Howard Jones, My Robot Friend, and S’Express.

More recently John’s tracks have been receiving the remix treatment by some of the most exciting new artists. His track, Red Sky, featuring Shaz Sparks, was sampled by Nicky Minaj in her song ‘Here I Am’, and has been remixed by cutting-edge producers Rebel Sonix and Subsonik & Smooth.

Jack Beats have also put their own stamp on John’s seminal ‘Up All Night’, out on Hervé’s Cheap Thrills imprint. And at the time of writing this, the remix for John’s tune ‘Numbers’ has 860,000 combined views on Youtube and counting.

But he’s been putting his skills to good use in return, with trance and bass remixes for Anjunabeats and a brand new Ben Nicky track; as well as Michael Cassette’s ‘Through the Windows’; and drum and bass remixes for chart topping bands such as Pendulum and Bloc Party.

In 2009, John was voted best drum and bass DJ in DJ Magazine’s top 100 poll. Last year D&B titan Andy C just pipped him to the post. But despite having to settle for runner up, John leaped an impressive 16 places to finish at number 76 overall.

One of the first electronic artists to fully exploit the power of the internet, John’s website www.john-b.com includes everything from his very own personal blog and style diary to exclusive audio, back stage videoblogs, glamour tips and outrageous tour photos.

And by creating exclusive free content he’s been able to amass a hugely loyal global following. His live sets and studio mixes regularly exceed 100,000 downloads and, as his podcasts near their 100th episode they’ve hit the itunes top 10 too.

John’s new album will park the adventures in electro for a moment, putting the focus back on a deeper trance and bass sound. EP, ‘Light Speed’ will feature collaborations with NSG, Jillian Ann, Shaz Sparks, Code 64 and Kirsty Hawkshaw.

The title track will be the big single off the album and features vocals from musician, MC and comic lyricist NSG, whose youtube videos have made him something of an online phenomenon.

The other artists appearing on the album are similarly diverse. Code 64, a goth industrial band from Sweden leant their singer, Bjorn’s vocals to the epic, trancey drum and bass of ‘The Journey’.

Classically trained pianist and multi-media artist, Jillian Ann brings an orchestral element to the rolling and deep ‘Love Again’.

And long established vocalists Shaz Sparks and Kirsty Hawkshaw feature on the bigger, euphoric tracks, Shaz on ‘Red Sky’, ‘Heroes’ and ‘Shining in the Dark’. Hawkshaw’s voice recalling Opus 3’s ‘It’s a Fine Night Tonight’; a track she sang on almost two decades ago, features on ‘Connected’.

As well as his own album project ‘Light Speed’, John also has plans to reboot the Trance and Bass compilation series before the end of the year.

Quotes.

“John B personifies the more leftfield, zany side of d&b. Sporting crazy hairdos and ‘80s electronica-inspired eye-makeup (water/sweatproof we hope!), his gigs have become a favourite on the trans-European and worldwide DJing circuit, not least this year, where his bookings list has skyrocketed as a result of wildfire word-of-mouth recommendations on the hedonistic circuit, as well as straight d&b nights.”
- DJ Mag, October 2010

“British DJ John B helped to tear the lid off drum ‘n’ bass in the mid-to-late nineties… He’s become the Dr. Frankenstein of the genre, suturing 170bpm to anything that moves, particularly trance, liquid funk, and Eighties-style synth pop.”
- Miami New Times, June 2008

“John B has almost single-handedly developed a drum & bass style soaked in 80s electro, rock, grunge, and trance influences and doused in tongue-in-cheek humour; and it has garnered him a fan-base few of his contemporaries could test. If you buy one drum and bass album this year, make it this, as you’ll be playing it in years to come. 5/5”
- iDJ Magazine

“Think 80s, Speak and Spell, He-man and She-ra, and the gay bar in Police Academy and then you have an idea of where this is coming from. In a nutshell this is porn-banging, nut grabbing genre-smashing electro overdosing shenanigans for catwalk models and porn stars alike. Enjoy!”
- M8 magazine

“Andy Warhol stole all my ideas.”

Makoto
Born in Tokyo in 1977. Having first come to prominence in 1999 when he was signed to LTJ Bukem’s Good Looking label, Makoto has steadily, consistently carved out his own groove in the world of Drum and Bass, with his trademark expansive jazz and soul-inflected workouts garnering critical praise from all corners. Randall
Randall
Try having a conversation about the rave scene, breakbeat culture or Jungle/D&B and not mention the name Randall. Impossible. The DJs DJ, most if not all in the industry will claim Randall as one of their major inspirations. The truth is, Randall IS Drum & Bass. Nearly 25 years in the game and his selection is as impeccable as ever, still mixing as faultlessly on two turntables as he ever did, in an age where technology (Sync Buttons) evolved to a standard that lets us all mix just like him. Here is a brief history of the godfather of breakbeat…

Having been introduced to DJ’ing at the early age of 17 by a college friend, Randall’s head was turned by Acid House for the first time at 1987’s Notting Hill Carnival. From there on he was hooked, spending his money on vinyl and listening to the likes of Rhythm Doctor, Rob Atkinson, Lindon C and Mr C, all members of the legendary ‘Hypnosis’ crew. Randall found that mixing came naturally to him, learning the basics in only a week, he then pushed himself to hone his unique unmistakable style, refining these skills by making weekly mix-tapes. One of those tapes did the rounds, resulting in a chance to play at the ‘Delirium’ crew’s warehouse parties in Stratford, London. He quickly became noticed, leading to a spot on the legendary East London pirate radio station, Centreforce in ’89.
Not content with just playing across the London airwaves and illegal raves, and with his reputation steadily growing the big break came with a gig at ‘Living Dream’, a huge 10,000 capacity event in London where, thanks to another DJ not showing up, Randall got to play an extended three-hour set which had everyone talking! Things spiraled from there, picking up a Saturday night residency at ‘Orange’ at the Rocket Club in London, playing alongside the likes of DJ Hype, Grooverider, Fabio and Rap. He also secured another major regular slot for AWOL/World Dance at the Paradise Club with Mickey Finn, Kenny Ken, Darren Jay and MC GQ. The rest they say is history.
Over the years, his reputation has helped him forge close links with a number of major record labels and artists, especially Reinforced and Goldie’s Metalheadz, ensuring that he was one of the first DJ’s to gain access to their highly-prized dubplates for testing the crowds. His move into production, whilst only occasional, have certainly been memorable, providing the classic ‘The R’ for the Reinforced Enforcers series, also linking up with Andy C for ‘Sound Control’ on Ram Records. He is also no stranger to the business side of running a record label, holding the reins at Mac II Recordings and Stepback Sessions, the latter in particular exhibiting the respect he has garnered within the scene compiling brand new remixes of legendary tracks from the likes of 4 Hero, Omni Trio & Doc Scott too name a few.
It’s as a DJ that he is best known. Aside from his live performances Randall has been commissioned by Mixmag, Drum & Bass Arena, Dreamscape, Ministry of Sound/AWOL and many others for studio mixes. With his fluid style and a career that has taken him all over the globe from the UK throughout Europe, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand & Asia. Randall’s ability to move with the times and reflect what is going on around him has ensured that his talents continue to be heavily in demand today. A term all too loosely bandied about, after 25 years at the top, Randall is the true definition of a legendary DJ, loved by the public & the industry alike!
Legion
Legion
Few artists boast the creative scope of Lee Griffin and Hunter Watson professionally known as 'Legion'. From their humble debut in 2009 on their own seminal USA based label 'Sine Language' imprint, to now releasing globally renowned anthems on most every competitive label in the industry, it is apparent the duo's technicality often goes unrivaled. Owning a back catalogue ranging from precisely crafted techno rollers to the more recently acclaimed festival-grade vocal anthems merely exemplifies their lasting impression on the industry. It’s unsurprising that in 2015, Andy C's industry leading 'RAM Records' and his meticulous A&R team stepped in and signed the duo with an ambitious contract citing exclusivity to the RAM staple, and proposed the rather ambitious clause of three full-length artist albums. With the RAM imprint acting as a beacon for their unique creative voice, their identity as recording artists has just begun to come into fruition. Crafting a new lane for the genre in America with their undoubtably signature sound and steadily making advances to the summit of an exceptionally prosperous production and DJ career.

The group was forged in 2009 from early tech-step and jungle roots dating back to the No-U turn, Renegade Hardware, Virus, DSCI4 days at the heart of the UK scene. With over 25 years of combined experience behind the decks they have been existing as
touring Dj’s and producers since before the turn of the millennia.
After managing to get a few demos ready in spring of 2009 with the collaborative helpof NC-17 , Koldfront and the original founding members 'Advance' and Jason Andrews, The team landed a track in Virus Recordings bosses Ed Rush & Optical’s hands. This soon lead to their naturalization to the musical world under this new moniker and was officially stamped by Ed Rush & Optical live at their Travel The Galaxy LP TV Launch. Not wanting to conform to the current sound of any resident labels, long time friend Nathan Vinaill aka Skynet and Drum and Bass Arena’s own, The Risky, helped them slate their Debut EP to their brand new label, Sine Language Imprint. The Signal of Design EP ft. NC-17 and Koldfront was then well received by the myriad of Drum and Bass elite. It debuted with multiple Top 20 spots on Beatport’s Drum and Bass Top 100 Charts as well as the #4 release on the DNBA store. It was upon this very momentum in early 2010 which lead them to slate singles in the form of Devil with Aces ft. Genr8 to Bad Chemistry Recordings and the vocal track entitled Both Sides ft. Adam Wright to Grid Recordings’ sister label All Sorts Recordings.

The artists first introduced themselves to the UK scene with immediate credibility via debut on Pete Tong's Essential Mix with Netsky, subsequently garnering the attention Dj Hype, Hospital records and many more. This new crossover appeal with the inclusion of Rnb/Pop singer Adam Wright meant the duo was now breaking ground on a deeper side of traditional Drum and Bass. Soon 'Both Sides ft: Adam Wright' was receiving weekly rotation by Dj Hype on his Kiss100 FM Radio show in the UK. Realizing this new sound was taking hold, Dj Hype called forth the stateside producers namely to forge another piece like this for his upcoming Flavours series on Playaz during a live broadcast on his Kiss100 FM Radio show. The team quickly began gaining unanimous support from the very same artists that influenced their sound. Artists like Teebee & Calyx, Cause4Concern, Dieselboy, Upbeats, Dom & Roland, and Pendulum were supporting their productions on a global platform. The seeds for their future innovation had now been planted by the very legends of the genre. This inspiring time lead them by necessity to a period of full-time studio work. While sharing this studio space with long time friend and Shadow Law Recordings' boss, Anthony 'Mayhem' , Lee and Hunter were soon introduced by the to the likes of a fresh techno-fueled bedroom producer named Logam. They soon hit it off and teamed up for the dance floor stormers Blackout and House of Cards ft. Adam Wright earlier this year. The songs were a perfect marriage of classic Drum and Bass and future minimal experimentation. Blackout was immediately sent to Dj Hype’s inbox and slated for Flavours Vol. 5 with a release date of February of 2013 on Hype’s Playaz imprint.

It was no surprise when releases soon followed suit on the Industry's top labels. The venerable Hospital Records, Audioporn, the ProgRAM Imprint and now finally the worlds leading drum and bass label 'Ram Records'. With the duo's soulful form, precision engineering and meticulous detail dialed in on popular vocal production, they have somewhatt effortlessly crafted timeless, genre-bending records such as "Both sides' , 'House of Cards', 'To Be Alone', 'Waiting' and continuously improving upon the formula. Maintaining an obvious nod to the liquid sound prevalent throughout the breakbeat and drum and bass community and yet masterfully adding thier unique & personal experience that breathes a very refreshing air of truth into sums of their artistic output, have turned their own style of underground drum and bass into something that is distinctly palatable and new for their American audience. Precisely juxtaposing the USA's most original vocalists from the streets of Atlanta and Nashvile and Los Angeles with the complexity of the inherently UK based urban genre drum and bass / jungle, it is safe to assume Legion has set an ambitious precedent for a generation of American based artists. This culmination of sounds , culture and geography was the perfect project for both the imprint and the artists to embrace the American youth and the entire globe by means of festival stages and radio airwaves alike. Relentless, dark and brooding, but full of clarity and sentiment, this approach consummates a style which the producers are renowned for. With the vocal roller ‘House of Cards’ being picked up by some of the dance world’s leading tastemakers, it saw the production trio ascend to a very critical point in their career. And the glass ceiling has been broken; it was only apt for such rising stalwarts to be given the monumental 25th release in the label’s discography.
‘Holding On’ and ‘Afterthought’ also followed their exclusive signing to the Ram Group. pushing the fact that the last 18 months have certainly stood out; they've smashed the prototype and made an impression on both sides of the Atlantic. Continued output on Program like such recent additions as "To be alone ft Micah Freeman / and the & aptly titled dance floor smasher "Switch up" have pushed the duo even further onto the agenda’s forefront. In 2016 they've definitively smashed any high profile remixes given their way. The Scottish progressive house artist 'Grum' and his 1990's era piano anthem ‘Straight to Your Heart’ is no exception as it became a welcome addition on BBC Radio 1xtra and quickly found a home on the Hospital Records 2016 annual compilation. Their original tracks, remixes and live show have become synonymous with quality that would be expected from the top artists in the UK and abroad and their momentum is only getting stronger over this coming year with every high profile RAM release.

Collecting records in 1999 was the start of a serious obsession with Drum & Bass for me. I grew up in Florida, where electronic music had a very big scene, and began to write my own tunes in 2000. From there, I have been signed to over 20 international labels including Innerground, goodlooking Records & V Records. - See more at: http://www.liquidv.co.uk/artist.htm#flaco
The sounds and samples that I tend to use in my music definitely have a certain style that pertains to my production. I use a lot of R&B vocal samples and house/early techno influenced synths and pads. My goal is to get everyone on the dance floor, keep it interesting and fun enough to make the people stay on their feet. - See more at: http://www.liquidv.co.uk/artist.htm#flaco
T.R.A.C.
T.R.A.C.
Hip Hop / Drum & Bass MC from Brooklyn,NY, United States
T.R.A.C. has been very involving in many different scenes in his music career. Struck by the bug at a very young age, music has always been one of the most influential things in his life. As an MC he knows how to rock a crowd, as a lyricist he can surely put words together in a fashion, but its the art of making music where T.R.A.C. excels. Not wanting to be seen as just a rapper, he wants to be respected as a vocalist/musician and MC.
Through out his musical journey, the New York native has touched on many different genres with Hip Hop effort. On his first '2000 feature with DJ ICUE “Next Level $hit” became an underground classic on Liquid Sky Records. The fusion of the 2 styles was seen as provocative at the time. Nonetheless, The experience of this had set the stage of what was to come in the future.
As a Konkrete Jungle resident and NYC scene supporter, T.R.A.C. has been seen performing with top tier Dj's and artist abroad. From NYC junglist Dj's like Odi, Dara, Soul Slinger, and LionDub to name a few, to overseas heavies like Jumpin Jack Frost, Dego (4hero), The Upbeats, Skream and within recent times was seen rocking the mic for the re-known Roni Size and the legendary DJ LTJ Bukem.
Back on the Hip Hop side of things, TRAC does what he considers “classic style Hip Hop. In love with mostly sampled sounds, he has teamed with the likes of UK legend Lewis Parker on a couple of occasions. From 2007's Boosey n Hawks entitled “Lewis Parkers' Home Grown Hip Hop” to Lp's more recent releases such as Dangerous Adventures.
In 2009, a friend handed him a copy of an album called Visioneers. A compilation of very well orchestrated covers that were done by UK (4hero) Legend Marc Mac. Being inspired from the album , T.R.A.C. went and searched for him via the internet. After a couple of conversations a new relationship was made firing the BK MC into new grounds. The tandem are 3 projects deep with music including his well received 2011 Omniverse/BBE debut album “The Network”. Marcs amazing soundscapes topped with T.R.A.C.'s vocals have been reviewed by critics on blogsites and magazines as “addictive” and “refreshing” to Hip Hop, garnishing 6stars in a Euro magazine(Oct OE4).
With a couple of feature spots to come in the future along with another upcoming over-viewed EP in the works his catalog keeps growing with quality music. Expect to hear and see more of this talented MC throughout the year. His goal remains the same. To Rule And Conquer.

Jason
Jason
This is in dire need of an update, but I put it up anyway. I suppose it’s better than nothing at all, BUT, please stay tuned for an updated version!

Growing up listening to the sounds of punk and hardcore, life long
San Diego resident Jason discovered undergrounds in late 92. He began
buying various styles of electronic music. By the end of 93, he was
frequenting parties happening in San Diego, and the occasional party
in Los Angeles. Through these experiences he realized that it was the
sound of Breakbeat Techno/’ardcore and Jungle that moved him. Having
already been a vinyl junkie, his obsession moved on to Jungle vinyl.
Jason slowly learned the art of Djing on hand-me-down gear from
various friends, slowly buying gear as he could. It was in October of 96 that he played his first
party, which happened to be one of the “TECHNOSTATE” parties in Los
Angeles called “Helter Skelter”.

In his ongoing search for more Jungle/DnB vinyl, Jason discovered
California Sound and Lighting in San Diego in ’97. At the time it was a small shop with
an even smaller vinyl department. This became his main source in San
Diego for vinyl. He soon became responsible for all of the store’s
D&B ordering, which quickly changed the status of the quantity and quality of DnB flowing through
this pivotal shop all the way through the end of 2008.

In 1999 Jason began throwing miscellaneous events. His first
residency was at the legendary “PROPHECY”, a weekly event in San Diego
that set new standards in the quality of talent and sound being
brought to San Diego. After about a year, Jason along with a few of
the other residents of Prophecy began a new free weekly called
“|||DELETE|||”. Delete was dedicated to bringing the best San Diego
and Los Angeles based DJ’s , as well as giving up-and-coming talent a
chance to play to a knowledgeable crowd. This was a move that has
made him the anchor for San Diego’s D&B community.

Over the years, Jason has played alongside some of the worlds top DnB DJ’s and
producers. Some of these include Bailey, TeeBee, Calyx, Klute, Usual
Suspects, Hive, Keaton, Dylan, Loxy, Ink, Evol Intent, Total Science, DJ Lee, UFO, R.A.W. (aka 6BLOCC),
Dieselboy, AK1200, Dara, Psidream, Twisted Individual, Infiltrata aka 12th Planet, MRK1, D1, and the list goes on. As a member of the Los Angeles based “ALMOST FAMOUS” crew, as well as the San Diego based “DEEP” crew,
he has played many of the highest quality events in Southern California, such as all of the
“TIME MACHINE” events, all 5 “FUTURA/BassCon” events in Mexico, “RESPECT”, “FUNCTION” by Insomniac,
“BASSRUSH”, “THE RAPTURE”, “PURE FILTH”, “I LOVE LA” , “D.A.B.S.” (Drum & Bass Sessions), and many others on multiple
occasions, and is in high demand. Keep an eye out for this “throwback” dj at a night near you.

Deeds would then release on the famed PLAY ME Records, 6BLOCC's 'Digital 6' record label and also Hit #1 on the charts twice while doing collabs with FIGURE on the Monsters album series. Mr Deeds next release is coming out on Excision’s Rottun Records in Spring of 2016.

During these last few years he’s moved forward, performing at all sorts of events like Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), to many shows at WMC in Miami (and many shows in between). DJ NIGHTSTALKER
DJ NIGHTSTALKER
With his flawless technique and signature style behind the decks, DJ Nightstalker is a name that has become synonymous with dancefloor mayhem and West Coast junglism. Having earned his stripes in the underground drum & bass scene of Los Angeles in the late 1990s, DJ Nightstalker's role as a journalist for Knowledge Mag (UK) fame continues to earn him immeasurable recognition and respect worldwide.

It was this success as a music journalist for legendary mags like URB, XLR8R, Rinse, ATM, and Knowledge that DJ Nightstalker credits with helping launch his own career as a heavy-hitting DJ in his own right. In the same way that the name Chris Muniz came to be seen as an expert in global drum & bass culture, his pseudonym as DJ Nightstalker soon came to represent an unparalleled dancefloor experience that would soon propel him onto the national and international stage.

Originally paying his dues in the Los Angeles rave scene, DJ Nightstalker has fond memories of legendary L.A. underground venues like the Masterdome, Shaolin Temple and Stillwater Hotel. Even more important during these early years was the creation of his infamous Thursday night rinse-out Primordial on the now-defunct vibeflow.com. While it was definitely a space for local talent to represent, most heads tuned in to catch sets from the all-start cast of VIP players who would often drop by unannounced. Heavy-hitters like Pendulum, Klute, Photek, Panacea, DJ Rap, Pieter K, E-Sassin, John Tejada, and even non-d&b artists like Ron D. Core and Omar Santana would regularly roll through and flex their skills for the internet massive.

It wasn't long until DJ Nightstalker found his own skills as a DJ in high demand, unleashing his infectious energy and signature blend of high intensity drum & bass on dancefloors as varied as the legendary Desert Sound Coalition parties in the Mojave Desert on through to Club Yellow in Tokyo, Japan. Having headlined all across the United States as well as rocked crowds alongside the likes of Goldie, Ed Rush & Optical, Tech Itch, Dylan, SS, Dillinja, Lemon D, Roni Size, Marcus Intalex, Trace, Paradox, Jumping Jack Frost, Black Sun Empire, Mampi Swift, Friction, Hive, and Gridlok, DJ Nightstalker continues to be remembered for pushing audiences to the breaking point and transforming an average night out into a high-energy, mind-bending journey.

Fast-forward to 2014 and DJ Nightstalker returns to the decks after a short hiatus that finds him in the midst of a demanding PhD program. While he continues to seek out and profile the most talented producers across the planet in his senior role as Knowledge Mag writer and journalist, the time has come for DJ Nightstalker to once again transform into that dark figure of the night, ready to unleash the beats that will have crowds bouncing off the walls and climbing up the speakers begging for more.

Part entertainer, scholar and shaman, it should be obvious by now that the only way to truly understand the power DJ Nightstalker wields is to experience him live with a crowd of heaving bodies at your side.

Santa Claus
Santa Claus
Generally depicted as an elderly, jolly and certainly rotund fellow with a white beard and a red suit (using elves as labourers in his toy factory on the North Pole and dashing around the planet in a sleigh pulled by nine flying reindeer to deliver the goods on Christmas Eve/Day), this is a catch-all "artist" profile for all releases where the performer is credited only as Santa Claus or similar -- including regional, historic, traditional, or linguistic variations.

These would include Kerstman, Saint Nicholas, Saint Nick, Weihnachtsmann, Kersvader, Papá Noel, Père Noël, Babbo Natale, Дед Мороз, Julemanden, and so forth, irrespective whether he's accompanied by elves, Krampus or Rudolph. These do NOT include recordings credited to Sinterklaas, the European bishop character on which Santa Claus is based, who has a separate entry on Discogs. Note that both Santa and Sinterklaas can be referred to as Saint Nicholas.

Please use ANVs accordingly.

Santa has a recording career probably spanning back to Thomas Edison's days and, according to urban legend, made use of the Coca Cola company for his modern, americanised image.
