That in itself shows he knows his DJs, he knows his music and he still has his finger on top of it all, proving it with the remixes he is coming with currently.

Releases on Random Concept Digital led to bookings for him at The Roadmender in Northampton, for one of the UKs biggest Drum and Bass promoters, Random Concept. He has also plays for Rough Tempo, Definition, Breakin Science, Garden Of England, Junta, Ruff Agenda, Bassmania (Germany) Respect Drum & Bass (L.A) Skank n Bass (Belgium) Revolt (Belgium) to name a few.

Since finding his musical home in electronic dance music in 1995, TABU has run the spectrum through DJing, club promotions, international artist bookings, graphic design projects under “TABU by Design”, and original production.

With regular mix compilations under his belt since donning the alias TABU in 1997, TABU has continually broken through the sub-genrefication of jungle/drum & bass with amazingly diverse sets. Whether its old school classics, upfront dancefloor, or the most cutting-edge drum & bass, his live sets are nothing short of amazing. With clean mixing, vicious blends, and an occasional touch of b-boy scratching, he ensures his audience is thoroughly satisfied.

His consistent DJ schedule has taken him onto the stage at most every prominent drum & bass night in Los Angeles and surrounding cities from the beloved “CLUB MUSE” to “RESPECT” and ”THERAPY SESSIONS-LA”, having shared the stage with worldwide drum & bass talent including Klute, A-Sides, Tech-Itch, Dylan, R.A.W. (aka 6BLOCC), Urban Assault, Artificial Intelligence, and Planet of the Drums (Dieselboy, Dara, & AK1200).
Currently focused on being a channel for sounds that are powerful yet positive, TABU continues to support the drum & bass community through steady event performances, radio appearances, CD mix releases, and now as a resident on Orange County’s emerging radio show dedicated to the electronic sound, MelodicTronic, on 93.5 FM. One way or another, you can expect an intense ride when TABU hits the decks.

JB MC
JB MC
JB MC is a jungle/drum and bass MC in Los Angeles, CA. JB MC first picked up the mic at age 11 where she hit the stage with a music solo at a school event. Engaging in multiple talent shows, she soon found that her passion was delivering her voice & sound behind the mic. At age 12, she was introduced to jungle/drum and bass when she heard DJ Craze’s United DJ’s of America Volume 16. The itch for the sound became addictive & in 2004, she was taken to her first rave, Electric Daisy Carnival. She was blown away by the combination sound of the DJ, the MC & the crowd. After that, she easily felt at home in the scene. In 2008, she attended a jungle show in Orange County, CA where she approached Insomniac Event’s resident MC, MC Dino. She hit him with a freestyle & he handed her the mic to get on stage for her first time as an MC. While supporting the scene in Orange County & Los Angeles, she witnessed a female MC, Julz The Huntress, who was performing at a monthly in OC, Upgrade DNB. She was inspired & motivated with Huntress’s confident vocal sound. Soon, the 2 collaborated and headlined MC’d at Resinate’s DNB Bombshell 2010. Later, she was asked to become a resident MC at Upgrade by founder, MC Werd. Since then, JB has performed alongside Optiv, Drumsound & Bassline Smith, Lenzman, Taxman, Empress, Reid Speed, Scooba, APX1, Curious & numerous local DJ’s in Southern California & Texas. She made her FM radio debut when her & partner, DJ Scooba (Junglist Platoon/Respect) played live on 90.7 FM KPFK for the Radiobomb show. In fall 2016, she released a liquid mix where she went back to back with UK’s first female jungle/dnb MC, Lady MC. With multiple projects in the works, be sure to keep up with what this female MC is brewing.
